Why do we use marketing language?
Like I said before, we use marketing language in order to persuade people to buy or products or services. Language is one of the most powerful tools to convince people. In combination with visuals, language is the most powerful. Language has had a great influence over people and their behaviour for a very long time. When language is used in the right way, it can be used to influence people while they aren’t aware of it. This makes it the perfect tool because a lot of people think they aren’t vulnerable to advertisements. They won’t think they have been influenced by the advertisements and believe they bought the product only because they wanted to themselves.
Nowadays, there are a lot of same-product businesses. They all want to sell their products and therefore need to promote them. They need to show that their product is the best choice to buy. Advertising is the most important tool for this and language is one of the most important aspects of advertising. They need to use short, eye catching and simple language in their advertisements. Everyone needs to be able to understand it. They need to target an audience and adapt to their language and needs.
In times like these, marketing language is more important than ever. We can see it all around us because of the internet, TV, campaigns and word-of-mouth advertising. There are so many businesses and so many ways to buy things, we will never be able to quit marketing language. It is a special part of language that will probably never stop improving itself. People need to buy products and marketing language helps to achieve that.
